This morning, transfer to the airport for your short domestic flight to Flores, the gateway to northern Guatemala’s archaeological treasures. Upon arrival, travel to the legendary Tikal National Park, one of the most important Mayan cities in the country’s history and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Deep within the rainforest, Tikal rises above the jungle canopy with towering temples and grand plazas. Walk through ceremonial complexes, climb Temple IV for panoramic views over the jungle, and learn about the rise and fall of the ancient Mayan civilization. Keep an eye out for wildlife such as howler monkeys, toucans, and coatis that inhabit this protected biosphere reserve. After a picnic lunch surrounded by nature, return to Flores for overnight.
